Bad Appel is a new apple brandy out of Normandy – ripping Calvados from its dusty heritage and rebuilding it as a vibrant, versatile weapon for modern mixology, not museum shelves.

Inspired by the legend of Adam and Eve, Bad Appel embraces the tension between good and bad, where purity gives way to temptation, and tradition collides with bold reinvention.

And the French ‘Appel’? A playful nod to the original ‘Bad Call’, to the apple we were not supposed to bite and to the unexpected turns and imperfect moments that make life interesting.

CRAFT METHOD

Artfully crafted by our master distiller in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, Bad Appel draws on centuries of Normandy apple brandy tradition. Cider is fermented for a minimum of 10 months, double-distilled over a traditional wood fire and matured for 3 years in seasoned French oak, preserving its vibrant, crisp apple character and fresh, fruit-forward flavour.

NOSE

FRESH, VIBRANT APPLE & LIME ZEST

Fresh green apples, lime zest, sour sweets and a hint of balsamic glaze.

PALATE

CRISP & SWEET APPLE PIE

Crisp, juicy apple with good acidity. Warming, with a subtle sweetness and notes of apple pie, fruit roll-ups and sucking sweets.

SMOOTH

Bad Appel finishes on delicious lemon peel, mint and gentle peppery spice. Rounded and refreshing, leaving the perfect ‘appel’ for another sip.
